Il battesimo, essenzialmente un fatto cristiano, è un rituale che inizialmente era compiuto per convinzione e per libera scelta. Ai nostri giorni è praticato soprattutto per tradizione. Oggi, nella maggior parte dei casi, la persona che viene battezzata non esprime la propria scelta. Si tratta spesso di una scelta effettuata per noi da parte di terzi. Non esistendo il consenso della persona interessata, si entra, di conseguenza, nel campo dell'imposizione.
